Control Engineering magazine announced that GE Infrastructure Sensing won its Editors' Choice award
Billerica, Massachusetts, April 6, 2005.
Control Engineering magazine announced that GE Infrastructure Sensing won its Editors' Choice award for the TransPort™ PT878GC ultrasonic gas flowmeter. The magazine considers the winners to represent the most significant innovations showcased in its pages during the past year.
Editors from the magazine selected the PT878GC as one of the 40 top new product releases for 2004. Hundreds of products were considered, based on the criteria of service to industry, technological advancement and market impact. Control Engineering increased the number of winners by five this year as a result of what it calls a "flurry of innovation." According to the publication, automation and control manufacturers launched a record number of new products in 2004.
The PT878GC is a portable clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter for gas flow measurement, designed for natural gas pipeline, compressed air, inert gas, or compressed gas applications. It extends clamp-on flow measurement to applications once considered impossible. New clamp-on gas ultrasonic transducer technology with advanced signal processing provides users with a robust portable platform for clamp-on gas flow survey work.
"OxyTrak's sealed reference sensor is the biggest technical innovation in flue gas analysis since the first application of the zirconium oxide oxygen sensor in the 1960s,“ said Doug Mitchell, product manager for GE Infrastructure Sensing. “Because OxyTrak does not require routine calibration, it's easy to maintain and to use—particularly since it is most often mounted on hard-to-reach stacks."
