PTX 400 Series: Pressure/Temperature Transmitters

 

The PTX 400 series of pressure, temperature and combined pressure/temperature transmitters has been specifically designed for long term use in subsea locations. It enables accurate process measurements to be made directly on subsea wellheads and production manifolds. The sensor design is based on API performance requirement PR2 and product specification level PSL3.

 

The PTX 400 utilises micromachined piezo resistive silicon pressure measuring technology continually developed and proven by GE Druck for 30 years. In addition, precision temperature measurement capability is provided by a fully integrated high performance platinum resistance type sensor.

P1 GE’s propriety and extensively field proven piezo-resistive silicon technology for pressure measurement and PT100 technology for temperature measurement available in single and dual (redundant) configurations. Measuring elements located close to the end of the flush probe design providing dynamic response whilst eliminating blockage potential where waxing or hydrate formation could exist within the process.

Subsea Production Systems (SPS)

  • Sensor performance and reliability is paramount when it comes to monitoring critical Pressure & Temperature measurements within the SPS, whether that be wellbore fluid on production trees ( e.g.choke, annulus), injection tress to promote formation flow from the well or managing the well fluid flow back through the manifold to the riser.  The PTX 400 series was designed and qualified specifically to meet these key measurements within the SPS and to maintain operation throughout the projected life of the field development.
  • The standard 10kpsi (15kpsi proof) sensor for 10k trees is mated to the tree/manifold via an Alloy 625 process wetted API 6A flange.For HPHT developments a 15kpsi (22,500 psi proof) API 6A flange is available employing GE’s propriety Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) technology.The SOI technology, originally developed for aerospace applications exceeding +250ºC where traditional piezo-resistive technologies are known to be unstable at high temperatures enables the PTX 400 to function without any degradation in sensor performance, stability or product life where HPHT well fluid temperatures can reach +180ºC It’s all electron beam welded construction by ASME IX qualified weld operators ensures integrity within the compact product design for operation down to 4500 meters meets the demands of even the deepest ultra deep water installations.
  • Analogue (4-20mA/20-4mA) or Digital (Modbus or SIIS Compliant Fault tolerant CANbus) outputs are available in single or dual pressure and/or temperature configurations providing complete flexibility for interfacing with the Subsea Control Module (SCM) via single or dual penetrations using Diver-mate, ROV or Stab connector interfaces which can be supplied terminated with the connector preference of your choice as part of a turn key harness solution.

HIPPS Pressure Sensors

  • Available in a SIL rated version with a fast response analogue output the PTX 400 series is also used for pressure monitoring within a HIPPS module.

Blowout Preventer (BOP)

  • The PTX 400’s excellent performance, reliability, overpressure and pressure containment capability make the sensor ideal for wellbore fluid monitoring on a BOP Stack as a critical point measurement as part of the BOP’s control system.

Subsea Flowline Monitoring

  • Pressure & Temperature monitoring of subsea pipelines and risers. The sensor’s flush design at the end of the probe means the sensor is not susceptible to blockages caused by the possible presence of sand, wax, asphaltene and hydrate formation.
