GE Measurement & Control Named Best Supplier for Power Generation by AES Brasil

Longmont, Colo. -- February 18, 2014 – GE’s (NYSE: GE) Measurement & Control business announced that AES Brasil named it the "Best Supplier in 2013 for the Power Generation Sector" at the AES annual "Best Suppliers Award" event. The award will be on display on a podium at the GE Brazil Customer Application Center.

AES, through its various subsidiaries across the region, is one of GE’s premier controls customers in Latin America, with a primary focus on unit control upgrades. AES was GE’s first customer in Brazil to install a complete Mark VIe Hydro ICS control system. The award was based on work led by the Measurement & Controls Control Solutions product line.

"Our top priority is to achieve customer satisfaction. This award is confirmation that we reached our goal," said Terry Knight, general manager – control solutions for GE Measurement & Control, a GE Oil & Gas division. "Executing complex projects, such as this, is a combined effort and could not have happened without the amazing integration of our collective teams."

AES works with thousands of suppliers, and 181 were eligible for the award. To determine the winner, AES used a system called the IDF - Supplier Performance Index, which evaluates criteria related to health & safety, service, quality, delivery, productivity level and treatment of environmental and social impacts. Since 2011, the IDF has evolved into a tool that enables greater efficiency and discipline in managing AES Brazil contracts. In addition, it encourages transparency and closeness between AES and its suppliers.

“This tremendous achievement highlights the fact that a growth initiative from three years ago led to solid business and satisfied customers,” said Knight. “This award touches everyone at GE’s Brazil Campinas office.”
