New Generation of GE Wellhead Sensors For Extreme Subsea Applications
Billerica, Mass. – May 25, 2007.
GE Sensing has introduced the PTX 400 Series of wellhead sensors, which offer exceptionally high reliability and accuracy at saltwater depths of up to 3000m. The new sensors enable accurate process measurements to be made directly on subsea wellheads and production manifolds and have been developed specifically to provide continuous use in excess of 25 years.
Designed to meet the increasingly stringent requirements for subsea operation and featuring piezo-resistive or quartz measuring technologies, the PTX 400 sensors can measure pressure to an accuracy of 0.1% FSD and temperature to 0.2% FSD, using 4-20mA analogue outputs and MODbus and CANbus connectivity. They are suitable for pressures up to 1035 bar/1500psi and temperature ranges from -46ºC to 150ºC and can be provided with dual redundancy outputs for even greater reliability.
The new sensors are of all welded construction and are manufactured in compliance with API performance requirement PRI and product specification level PSL 3.
GE Sensing is a leading supplier of subsea sensors for wellhead process and control module hydraulic applications. In addition, GE Sensing offers a wide portfolio of products to measure temperature, liquid level, moisture and humidity, gas concentration and flow rate for applications in the chemical, petrochemical and oil and gas sectors.
