GE Introduces Medical Temperature Probes for Critical Patient Monitoring
New Certified UltraTemp™ Series Probes Offer High Standard of Temperature Measurement
Shanghai, CHINA - November 8, 2004.
GE Infrastructure Sensing, a leading provider of precision sensing products, systems and services, today announced CE Mark Approval and the availability of the UltraTemp™ 400 and 700 Series temperature probes for critical patient monitoring. The new UltraTemp Series of temperature probes are designed with high quality ceramics with advanced material processing, enabling the GE probe product family to meet the stringent demands of the global medical marketplace.
Monitoring core body temperature accurately and reliably is critical to determining a patient’s well being. The GE UltraTemp 400 and 700 Series have been designed to address a critical issue surrounding all reusable temperature probes - cleaning after use. The UltraTemp is a unique set of probes within this series that has been designed for Steam Autoclave Sterilization temperatures up to 134° centigrade, thus providing clinicians greater flexibility with their infection control guidelines. GE continues to meet an ever-increasing market demand for high quality products by combining robust technologies and with advanced manufacturing capabilities resulting in optimized performance, efficiency and safety.
GE is very excited to announce the new UltraTemp temperature medical probe portfolio for critical patient monitoring” said Howard Krain, medical market manager for GE Infrastructure, Sensing. “Our thermistors have played a major role in healthcare for over thirty years. As part of several new product introductions in our medical portfolio, we continue to develop products with improved materials and more efficient production methods providing enhanced product performance and increased cost-effectiveness for our customers and for patients around the world.” In an effort to meet an ever-increasing demand for quality, reliability and performance.
The Series 400 and 700 temperature sensors are the result of 60 years experience in the design and manufacture of the highest quality sensors for temperature measurement and monitoring. With this capability, the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) market has worked closely with GE and its global service and applications engineering team delivering a wide range of medical products with international approvals and certifications that include QS 9000, ISO 9001, EQ Net, UL, and CE certification (compliant with 93/42 EEC Medical Device Directive).
