Heat Exchanger Damage - Corrosion Inspection
- Heat exchanger tube problems can cause unit outages and environmental impact.
- Damage can occur suddenly (titanium tube support plate wear after 2 weeks of above design flow conditions) or longer term.
- Remote visual inspection (RVI) can provide internal condition. Leak testing does not provide volumetric assessment.
- Eddy current testing is the preferred method of tube inspection for non-ferrous alloys.
