Features

Why Trendmaster Pro?

A key feature of the Trendmaster® Pro is its innovative architecture, which links hundreds of permanently mounted transducers and measurement points onto a single-cable sensor network, and brings the data into our System 1® software. Wiring costs are dramatically reduced when compared to a conventional continuous monitoring system, yet individual measurement points can be scanned by the system every few minutes to provide quasi-continuous condition monitoring data.

Trendmaster Dynamic Scanning Module (DSM)

DSMs are used to scan and capture data from connected transducers in a Trendmaster Pro system, condition this data into the measurements of interest, and pass this to System 1 software. Data can be introduced into a DSM via a TIM Input Card. This card accepts inputs from Transducer Interface Modules (TIMs) connected to the Trendmaster system's unique "sensor bus" cabling which supports hundreds of points on a single cable or via an appropriate Direct Input Card. These cards support direct wiring of transducers, without the use of "sensor bus" cabling and TIMs.

accelerometer-200150200150 Accelerometer

The 200150 Accelerometer is a general-purpose, case-mounted seismic transducer designed specifically for use with Trendmaster® TIMs, flexiTIMs, proTIMs, and selected 1900 series monitors. It uses a piezo-electric sensing element and features robust construction in a hermetically sealed, stainless steel case, well-suited for harsh industrial environments. For ease of installation, we provide innovative mounting systems> (PDF) compatible with the 200150, designed to reduce installation costs.

200250-pro200250 proTIM-C

The 200250 proTIM-C Accel-to-Velocity channel types let you interface accelerometers with your Trendmaster® Pro system. Standard Accel-to-Velocity channels interface with the general purpose 200150 Accelerometer. Low Frequency channels interface with the 200155 Accelerometer. Acceleration Enveloping channels interface with the 200157 Accelerometer. All three channel types integrate the transducer's acceleration signal to velocity units. The proTIM-C has two channels that can be configured for either vibration and/or temperature measurements. It is designed to fit in a conduit body for lower installation costs than other mounting alternatives, and is recommended for most applications.

Generic Dynamic Signals and Monitor Outputs
TransducerTransducer Interface Module

Trendmaster® Pro can accept a variety of dynamic signals with outputs in mV per engineering unit. These signals can come from compatible transducers supplying a dynamic signal, or can be from a machinery protection system’s buffered signal output.

Note: When connecting one or more continuous machinery protection system racks (such as Bently Nevada 3500 and 3300) to your System 1™ software, it is generally recommended that an appropriate communications processor be used (such as TDI, DDI, TDXnet, etc.) rather than using TIMs and Trendmaster sensor-bus cabling. Many of our communications processors can be installed directly into the protection system rack, without the need for additional external hardware. Another option is to directly wire the monitoring system outputs into appropriate Direct Input Cards in the DSM, which can often be co-located in the same cabinet as the machinery protection systems. Your nearest Bently Nevada salesperson should be consulted to provide a detailed comparison of cost and capabilities for these various options.

101281-rackRack Buffered Output TIM (101281)

The 101281 accepts a variety of dynamic signals from non-Bently Nevada transducers with outputs in mV per engineering unit. It is also used to connect machinery protection systems to the Trendmaster® Pro system, using the machinery protection system's buffered signal output connections.

> Rack Buffered Output TIM (101281)
101282-bufferedBuffered Keyphasor® TIM (101282)

The 101282 is designed to accept the conditioned Keyphasor® signal from a machinery protection system’s buffered output connectors.

Generic Static Signals and Monitor Outputs
TransducerTransducer Interface Module

Trendmaster® Pro can accept a variety of static proportional signals such as 4 to 20 mA, 1 to 5 Vdc, and others such as supplied by process transmitters or transducers. This allows virtually any compatible signal such as flow, level, pressure, and others to be introduced into the Trendmaster® Pro system for condition monitoring purposes. The system can also accept proportional signals from a permanent monitoring system, such as those used to drive stripchart recorders.

Note:When connecting one or more continuous machinery protection system racks (such as Bently Nevada 3500 and 3300) to your System 1™ software, it is generally recommended that an appropriate communications processor be used (such as TDI, DDI, TDXnet, etc.) rather than using TIMs and Trendmaster sensor-bus cabling.

85014-processProcess Variable TIM (85014)

This TIM allows any ISA-compatible 4 to 20 mA or 1 to 5 Vdc static proportional signal to be input to the Trendmaster® Pro system. Such signals may come from the recorder outputs of a machinery protection system, from process control and monitoring devices such as transmitters, or from other instrumentation capable of providing a compatible proportional current or voltage related to a variable it is measuring. This TIM does not provide power to the current loop or connected device.

Note: When interfacing to a 0 to 10 Vdc signal, use our 101283 TIM instead.

The 200140 flexiTIM™ module provides two channels on the Trendmaster® Pro system for monitoring any static 0 to 5 volt transducer input. Each flexiTIM™ channel provides power and signal conditioning to its connected transducer. It is compatible with numerous non-Bently Nevada transducers and instruments which provide an appropriate static voltage output.

> 200140 flexiTIM™ Module
101283-recorder0 to -10 Vdc Recorder TIM (101283)

This TIM allows a 0 to 10 Vdc static proportional signal to be input to the Trendmaster® Pro system. Such signals commonly come from the recorder outputs of a machinery protection system, but may also come from other process instrumentation capable of providing a compatible proportional voltage related to a variable it is measuring. This TIM does not provide power to the connected device. Note: When interfacing to a 4 to 20 mA or 1 to 5 Vdc signal, use our 85014 TIM instead.

Temperature
TransducerTransducer Interface Module

trans-rtdTemperature measurements are an important part of condition monitoring and can be introduced into the Trendmaster® Pro system in a variety of ways. Temperature sensing elements, such as RTDs and thermocouples, can be introduced directly. Or, if the temperature signal is already available in a process control or other system as a 4 to 20 mA or other proportional signal, it can be connected using an appropriate static signal TIM. For the majority of temperature measurements made with Trendmaster® Pro, the range of a K-type thermocouple is adequate, and we strongly recommend our 200125 Temperature Sensor as the optimal solution.

> 200125 Temperature Sensor
200250-pro-tim200250 proTIM-C

The 200250 proTIM-C with a temperature channel type selected lets you interface K-Type thermocouples or 2-, 3-, or 4-wire platinum RTDs with your Trendmaster® Pro system, and converts the transducer’s acceleration signal to velocity units. The proTIM-C has two channels that can be configured for either vibration and/or temperature measurements. It is designed to fit in a conduit body for lower installation costs than other mounting alternatives, and is recommended for most applications.

> 200250 proTIM-C
200200-pro-tim200200 proTIM-R

The 200200 proTIM-R provides functionality identical to the 200250 proTIM-C (see above), but is designed to mount on 35mm DIN rail rather than in a conduit body.

Static Pressure
TransducerTransducer Interface Module
200132-pressure200132 Pressure Transducer

Pressure transducers as part of a condition monitoring system have a variety of uses. They can measure relevant process pressures, helping users to understand the operating conditions impacting their equipment. They can also be used to ensure that important auxiliary systems, such as lube or seal oil delivery mechanisms, are operating within specifications. Bently Nevada offers static pressure transducers in numerous pressure ranges, with robust construction that can withstand harsh industrial environments.

200130-pressure200130 Dual Pressure flexiTIM

The 200130 accepts up to two static pressure transducers, allowing you to make a variety of non-dynamic pressure measurements for trending, alarming, and correlation with other data in your condition monitoring system. We recommend our 200132 pressure transducer, available in a variety of pressure ranges; however, the 200130 flexiTIM is also compatible with other industrial pressure sensors using the same connector style as our 200132, and having an output sensitivity of 10 mV/V.

> 200130 Dual Pressure flexiTIM

> ORBIT Article

Note: The 200132 transducer and 200130 flexiTIM are not intended for applications using pressure to assess seal integrity. Instead, we recommend the use of our 200136 transducer and companion 200135 flexiTIM, specifically designed for seal-leak detection applications.

Seal-Leak Detection (SLD)
